University of Wisconsin System leaders gathered more feedback and now it will be up to the UW regents whether to approve proposed changes to freshman admissions policies.
>
There were hearings yesterday at five campuses including UW-Eau Claire.
>
The changes would mean campuses could no longer guarantee admissions to students who meet certain grade point average and test score requirements.
>
The proposals are controversial because they would allow non- academic factors including race to be considered. Some opponents at the meetings contend it could result in reverse discrimination against white people.
