A Marshfield company will pay thousands of dollars to the state for allegedly dumping pollutants into a creek in Clark County.
Court documents say a DNR warden found white-colored water was being rushed out of a pipe from a company owned by Marawood Sand and Gravel. The warden said the water was being deposited into O'Neill Creek, which is located north of Neillsville.
A water sample was taken and showed a pollutable amount of sand was being pumped into the stream. Court records show the sand could cause damage to fish and vegetation.
As part of a settlement, Marawood Sand & Gravel agreed to pay $10,000.
