A group of kids in Chippewa County will have the opportunity to get outside and do a little hunting for a big animal.
The Cornell and Lake Holcombe Community Education Program have selected nine kids to go bear hunting with local mentors.
The program is part of the DNR’s learn to hunt program. They attended a training session today and will be out hunting tomorrow and Sunday.
"A goal of ours is to get them off the couch, get them outside, whether its hunting, fishing, kayaking, we've collaborated with the DNR on various things around the community."
This is the fourth year of the program.
