5th annual Banbury Art Crawl draws in artists & enthusiasts

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Hundreds of art enthusiasts scoped out the historic Banbury Place in Eau Claire to check out the creativity of local artists.

The 5th annual Banbury Art Crawl took place Friday and Saturday. The free event brought everything from wood carvers to glass blowers, painters, sculptors, fashion and jewelry designers and photographers to one place.

Kevin Midthun, a local wood carver from Eau Claire who has been carving for 40 years, said it was his first time at the crawl. He said it was nice getting to talk to customers and people interested in his work.

“It’s kind of nice to get a little ego boost once in a while. I’m usually alone in my studio carving, so I don't see people or get the interaction so it’s kind of a delight for that especially,” said Midthun.

More than 60 regional artists and vendors showed off their art in the two day event.
