A man attempting to get away from Deputies in Barron County instead was held back by the elements.

Around 2:00 a.m. Monday Sheriff's officials tried to stop Wade Deveney, 43, who was wanted for several burglaries and vehicle thefts in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota .

He was driving in a stolen vehicle, but it got stuck in the snow. He took off on foot and was caught a few blocks away.

He was taken to the Barron County Jail where detectives say he admitted to 10 burglaries in Barron and Dunn County, one burglary in Minnesota, and three vehicle thefts.
