WAUPUN, Wis. (AP) -- The Dodge County sheriff's office says it is investigating the late 1960s death of an inmate from the Waupun State Prison.

The sheriff's office said Monday it received a complaint of a possible suspicious death of an inmate. The sheriff's office says it does not have the name of the inmate.

Sheriff Patricia Ninmann says the Wisconsin Department of Corrections is cooperating with the investigation and is providing all the necessary documents dating to the late 1960s.

In a statement, the sheriff says her office is "taking this complaint seriously until it is proven elsewise."
