Wisconsin Native & The Oscars

A Kenosha native has won his third academy award in three years.

Jim Rygiel won for visual effects for the motion picture "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

Rygiel, a graduate of the UW-Milwaukee, also won for the previous two films in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Rygiel has been in New Zealand for the past three years working on movies. He'll be there a while longer helping the director of the trilogy, work on an extended version of the film that will be released on DVD later this year.
