Teachers Approve Contract
Members of the teachers union met at North High School Monday afternoon and approved the package on a vote of 538 to 51.
The deal says that by 2007, starting salaries will be just above $35,000, and the salaries of veteran teachers will increase up to 3 percent during that time period.
Health insurance rates and coverage remain the same. The school board will vote on the two-year contract at their meeting Monday night.
