Charges have been dismissed against the woman who was accused of driving drunk and hitting a man who was lying in the road.
Online court records show four charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and third offense operating while under the influence were dropped against 46-year-old Lori Lynn Young of Stanley.
Prosecutors tell us there are still to many questions to continue with the case, but that charges could be re-issued and it is an ongoing investigation.
Young's attorney told us the district attorney's office didn't have enough evidence to continue the case and said Young's blood alcohol content after the crash came back as .04 percent.
Deputies say in August, 28-year-old Aaron Bourget stopped his SUV in the middle of the highway on County Road G near Stanley and was lying in the road when Young hit him.
Earlier this month, the Chippewa County coroner said Bourget was legally drunk when he was hit. She said his cause of death was multiple trauma.
Investigators don't know why Bourget was lying in the middle of the road. Aaron's brother, Jason Bourget, says the family is still trying to deal with the tragedy.
