A local high school receives an award for education through technology.
>
Best Buy gave Fall Creek High School a $15,000 gift card to add new technology to their production program.
>
This is part of Best Buy's Teach Award Program.
>
The high school had to apply for the card, showing how they are using technology to expand learning.
>
The production classes have been making video copies of school musicals on the History of Fall Creek, specially written for the school.
The money will go towards new equipment as part of preserving the town's history.
>
"It'll make it a whole lot easier. In addition to that, then it sets us up in a position that we can begin to archive the historical data in our community, to have the equipment to do that,” says local playwright Karen Hurd.
>
This award went to 35 schools across the country.
>
The finalists, including Fall Creek high are in line to win an additional $250,000 gift card, which will be awarded this summer.
