Woman hit and killed walking across street

A woman is dead after she was hit by a car while walking across the street.
It happened just before 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. Bloomer police say a woman was walking across Highway 40 and 17th Street when a car driven by Erica Olson of Bloomer hit her. Officers say the woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The case is headed to the district attorney's office for possible charges.
