Indepedence Candidate

An Indepedence man, who is already a city council member, wants to be more involved in his local government.

Wayne Skroch is seeking re-election for his city council seat, but the 52-year-old father of three is also running for a seat on the school and county boards, as well as for the mayor of Independence.

That's in addition to a full time job at an automotive assembly plant.

Skroch says he wants to research problems in the area to find the best solution for taxpayers, saying "It's just helping people, serving people and letting the little voice be heard."

If Skroch is elected to both the mayor's office and his city council seat, by law, he will have to choose one, and he says it will be to be the mayor.
