Transport Company Returns Home

Almost one year after they were ordered to active duty, soldiers from the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 1158th Transportation Company returned to Black River Falls.
The unit members left March 15 of last year and is a detachment of the Tomah-based company.
The 60 members of the company spent the past seven months at Fort Irwin, assisting in training other troops heading overseas.
The company impressed the brass in California, hauling more than 1600 vehicles more than 45,000 miles with no accidents and no injuries. They also had a 98% operational readiness.
The company had orginally had orders to go to Iraq, but they were cancelled.
