People in one community have been complaining about large amounts of deer and the damage their doing around homes. So now the city has approved a special bow hunt.
The Onalaska Common Council approved the special hunt to reduce its urban deer herd. The special bow hunt will be November 11th through the 19th and December 14th through the end of January.
To participate hunters have to take a proficiency test at La Crosse archery in Onalaska. They also have to go to the city's website for rules and a written test. Hunters will get two tags for $10. Registration for the hunt starts October 28th.
