Wisconsin Rapids Students Send Supplies to Iraq

Wisconsin Rapids' Lincoln High School is sending 38 boxes of supplies to four schools in Iraq. The boxes are headed for Baghdad's Al Shaab district and includes pens, pencils, markers, folders and paper for a project called "Operation School Box."

The Wisconsin National Guard's 32nd Military Police Company will distribute the supplies. But more Wisconsin schools are also collecting and shipping supplies to poverty-stricken areas of Iraq.

They include students in the Adams-Friendship school district and the Stevens Point school district.

The entire operation is coordinated by a group known as Hearts Apart, and organizes collections throughout central Wisconsin.
