Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager Tuesday told her employees in the State Justice Department that she drove while in intoxicated causing her to drive off the road.

She was cited by the Dodge County Sheriff's Department for the incident, which occurred Monday night. She told her staff, "I wish to apologize to you for the negative impact my actions might have on the Department and the public's perception of this fine institution." Lautenschlager added that she accepts the consequences of her actions.

A preliminary breath test showed Lautenschlager's blood alcohol level was point one two.
