A school will remain closed until Monday because of flu-like symptoms in students and teachers.
Staff at Eau Claire Lutheran School spent the day cleaning and dis-infecting classrooms, hallways, and other areas.
Principal Jane Jaenke says 21 of the 90 students at the school were out sick on Wednesday.
"Then it was starting to hit my staff members," Jaenke said, "and that's when...as I was eating supper...I thought...common sense. Let's just shut down. Let's get in. Let's get everybody rested so I don't have some kids coming in healthy and some kids going home sick."
Jaenke says some parents told her their kids have the H1N1 flu virus, but she's not sure how many.
The Eau Claire City-County Health Department says the department and school will make the decision to close together during a flu outbreak.
Its guide goes on to say co-curricular activities and other events will be canceled at schools that close.
