As of 10 p.m Friday night: Xcel Energy says 1,000 customers are without power on the north side of Eau Claire, plus scattered outages across the Chippewa Valley.
Brian Elwood with Xcel Energy says the power is back on to the thousands in Lake Hallie. There are still outages in Chippewa Falls, Bloomer and Durand. There are 700 customers out in Menomonie.
Xcel crews are out working on restoring power. Elwood says it should be back on Friday night.
Eau Claire Energy Cooperative says 2,000 customers were out. It's down to 800 as of 9:45 p.m. Friday.
Downed branches cut power to about 1,200 people around Seymour and there are outages by Cleghorn as well.

The State Patrol says cars were going into ditches left and right Friday afternoon; troopers were called to around 20 slide-ins.
The Eau Claire Police Department dealt with several crashes in town, including a truck into a stop light. The department says the crashes caused some property damage, but no one was seriously hurt.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department was also out to crashes. Deputies were at the scene of a truck and trailer that ended up sliding off Highway 53 near the roundabout.
Both city and county road crews were out salting and clearing the streets and highways Friday afternoon.
Sgt. Jerry Voight with the State Patrol says even though it's early in the season, it's important to remember the basics: Slow down, leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, don't use your cruise control, buckle up, and pay attention to where you are so if you do go into the ditch you can tell officers where to come help you.

Eau Claire picked up roughly an inch of snow. Minor accumulations expected until the rain/snow showers start to taper off early Saturday morning, but with low temperatures around freezing, expect the roadways to be slick in spots.
