Lawmakers Talk Pro-Business Accomplishments
Rob Kreibich and Jeff Wood said they were especially happy to see the adoption of a single-factor business tax. Businesses will now only be taxed based on their Wisconsin sales. Property and employment will no longer be factors.
Kreibich says it ends six years of debate over a three-way tax that essentially penalized businesses for hiring more workers.
Lawmakers also increased grants for Manufacturing Extension Program Centers, streamlined regulations, and made it easier for local governments to approve new power plants.
