Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager says the state ethics board will decide this week regarding her use of a state vehicle to get back and forth from her home in Fond du Lac to Madison is within state rules.
The use of the car came under intense scrutiny after she was stopped and arrested several weeks ago for drunk driving. The incident happened in Dodge County and her blood alcohol level exceeded the state limit of .08. Records show she has put on more than 20,000 miles since becoming attorney general in January, 2003 while driving on state business and commuting home nightly.
She says she will reimburse the state of Wisconsin if the ethics board decides she violated state rules.
