The 500 members of the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 724th Battalion are to return home after having been on active duty for one year.

Members of the unit were mobilized last March and left last May and served in Central Iraq. The members are expected to arrive Friday, Sunday and Monday at the Vold Field Air National Guard Base. They're from Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Spooner, Superior, Hayward, Medford, and Chippewa Falls.

The soldiers will be met by senior National Guard officials, a military band and by family and friends.
