The event is aimed at uniting firefighters, law officials and military personnel with children in the community.
The event encourages children to talk with the people and learn to trust them. Organizers say they want children to befriend professionals in their community.
This is the second year the flag raising has been held at Memorial Park, and event organizers hope to make it an annual event.
