Students at UW-Stout are getting the chance to learn about how the brain functions in a new way.
>
UW-Stout teachers and students held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the C-NERVE lab.
>
C-NERVE stands for cognitive-neuroscience education and research valued experience.
>
Students showed off their research in measuring brainwaves, muscle tension and eye movement.
>
Teachers say the lab is advanced and will allow students to learn about psychology hands-on with new technology and equipment.
>
"Students are learning psychology in a very different way," said UW-Stout Psychology Professor Richard Tafalla.
>
Teachers say they expect about 300 students to use the lab each year.
>
They say the lab will offer helpful hands-on experience for students majoring in all science-related fields.
