Rising Waters

March 28, 2004 (EAU CLAIRE, WI) A flood watch is posted Sunday for northern Wisconsin and parts of western Wisconsin. The National Weather Service says those areas have been getting rain, and much of the state will get occasional showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. Among the rivers with water on the rise is the Chippewa River in west-central Wisconsin. With the river expected to top its flood stage in the next few days, parts of the Chippewa River State Trail in Eau Claire have been closed in anticipation of the flooding. Also, a flood warning is in effect for the Eau Claire River northeast of Wausau in Marathon and Langlade counties. Weather officals say rising waters could flood some roadways.
