Ducks Unlimited and its partners have received $1 million grant to restore and protect more than 3,000 acres of wetlands and associated upland territories in Wisconsin.
The grant will be used to continue a project called the Wisconsin Northwest Pothole Habitat Initiative.
It was designed to protect and restore land in the glacial pothole regions, which includes Chippewa and Eau Claire counties.
The grant was met by nearly $2.7 million in matching funds from Ducks Unlimited, the Wisconsin DNR and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
