The mother of U.S. Army Private First Class Sean Schneider of Janesville says her son enlisted in the service shortly after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America. Kim Schneider says her son was reassigned from Fort Hood, Texas to Iraq in early March of this year.

Sean Schneider died in an attack on his unit's convoy near Baghdad. An explosion caused caused his vehicle to run off the road Monday.
He was assigned to the 115th Army Forward Support Battalion. Private Schneider is the 13th Wisconsin soldier to be killed in Iraq since Iraqi Operation Freedom began more than a year ago.
