Jackson County Nursing Home Expecting Changes

By  |

On April 6, voters shot down a referendum that would have increased taxes to pay for a $1 million shortfall in the budget for the county-owned and -operated Pine View Care Center.

Now that residents have spoken, county officials are working with staff at the facility to decide what kind of care, if any, will be provided in the future.

A plan has been endorsed by both the Board of Trustees and the Planning Commission that would reduce the size of the nursing home and create more assisted living facilities.
The county board will review the recommendations next week.
