One Vehicle Crash Lands Man in Chippewa River
A Chippewa Falls man lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over into the Chippewa River early Wednesday morning.

A man is lucky to be alive this morning after his car skids off the road and lands in the Chippewa River near Cornell.

Cornell Fire Chief Denny Klass says the man was driving on County Hwy CC, north of Cornell when his car rolled over and landed upside down in about three feet of water.

A passerby saw lights down the embankment, and rescue crews arrived around four o’clock Wednesday morning. The man told rescue workers he thought he had been in the water for about two hours.

He was airlifted to an Eau Claire hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
