Members of the Ski Sprites team collected a "boat load" of food from its haunted house this season.
This Halloween season, the Sprites held its 10th annual haunted house in Eau Claire. The team gave people a dollar off their admission to the fright factory if they brought an item of food to donate.
Head of Marketing for the Ski Sprites Colleen Weber says last year they came just short of one ton of food. This year their goal was to surpass a ton. On Tuesday some members loaded and weighed the boat load of food they collected.
Weber says, "It's really fun for us to do a fundraiser that can benefit the Feed My People food bank and to give back to the community this way."
Weber says the Sprites plan to continue to collect food for the food bank in other events through the season.
