Last year, the Consumer Protection Agency had 17 complaints of people not receiving tickets they had paid for through a misleading website.
In most cases, officials were able to refund the money but are asking fans to be knowledgeable consumers.
A few tips:
- Pay with a credit card if possible, but don't give the card numbers out if you aren't certain the website or broker is official.
- Be suspicious of a broker that doesn't have a permanent address or will not give out a phone number.
- Check with the National Association of Ticket Brokers registry of bonded ticket brokers.
