Genetic disorder killed 14-year-old cross country runner
An autopsy found 14-year-old Forrest Goetsch rural Wausau died from a genetic disorder while at practice in September.

We now know what killed a junior high student during cross country practice in September.

An autopsy found 14-year-old Forrest Goetsch rural Wausau died from a genetic disorder while at practice.

The Marathon County Medical Examiner's office says Forrest died from complications of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's a disorder characterized by defective connective tissue that supports skin, muscle and ligaments.

Forrest's principal says he was a remarkable person.
