After Four Hours of Deliberation Poirier Is Found Guilty

It took a jury four hours to find a Bloomer man guilty last night of all the counts against him in connection with a shooting in January.

The verdict came in for Eric Poirier around 9 p.m. Thursday night. The 48-year-old Poirier was convicted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, along with five other charges for shooting and wounding Leon Lapham at a home near Bloomer.

The jury found Poirier guilty of all six counts, five felonies and a misdemeanor which together could carry up to 123 years in prison. A sentencing date for Poirier has not been scheduled yet.
