Flags flew at half staff at Wisconsin National Guard armories, air bases and state government buildings on Saturday.
The flags were lowered to honor Wisconsin Army Specialist Nickolas Mueller of Little Chute who died two weeks ago in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
An executive order was issued by Governor Doyle that stated the flag of the United States and of Wisconsin would be lowered today to honor Mueller’s efforts while serving his county.
Mueller's memorial service was also held Saturday.
