Federal court records show an Altoona woman has agreed to plead guilty to a count of bank robbery in connection with the U.S. Bank robbery in Eau Claire in July.
Federal prosecutors say 40-year-old Debra Berenz has agreed to plead guilty to one count of bank robbery by force or violence. If convicted, she could face up to 25 years in prison and a quarter of a million dollars in fines.
Investigators say on July 15th, Eric Koenig pointed a pistol at a teller at the U.S. Bank near the Menard's distribution center in Eau Claire County. They say he got away with about $4,000 in cash.
Prosecutors say Berenz was driving a getaway car. She's set to be sentenced in February.
Koenig is due back in federal court on Tuesday.
