The Barron County Sheriff's Department wants to warn you about a possible scam in the area.
It says people have reported getting an email that says they've won a gift card from Walmart. But the email says a credit card number is necessary to pay for the shipping.
The email gives a phone number to call and confirm the prize and provide a shipping payment. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says the email is probably a scam and you should never give out your credit card number unless you're positive of where it's going.
