Chippewa Falls Business Seeks to Expand

Chippewa River Industries train people with disabilities to do light assembly work and become more independent. They have outgrown their current facility in Chippewa Falls.
The Chippewa County Board has approved a grant application that would help build a $1.5 million facility at an undetermined location.

Expected to be double the size, the new facility would not only allow for 30 more workers to join the 120 currently in the working program, but it would also allow CRI to bring in more customers.

"We've got 7 customers on deck, so to speak that we're working with and developing partnerships with by the end of the summer," says Director Dave Lemanski. CRI plans to submit a grant proposal to the State Department of Commerce in the next two weeks to begin the planning for the new facility.
