EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The rainy weather didn't stop local community members from heading to the shooting range on Saturday. More than 200 people took part in the 6th annual Rich Seubert Celebrity Trap Shoot at the Eau Claire Rod and Gun Club.
The former NFL guard and Marshfield native started the fundraiser in honor of his grandmother who had a heart transplant 26 years ago. The goal is to raise money to support further heart disease research at Marshfield Clinic.
Among the celebrities who took part in the shoot off this year were former Packers wide receiver Bill Schroeder and former Packers center Grey Ruegamer.
"We started the trap shoot seven years ago to raise funds for cardiac research in name of my grandmother. My grandma has meant a lot to me so I always wanted to do something in her name so i teamed up with Marshfield Clinic and together we're doing a trap shoot. Every year it just gets better and better. This year I was grateful to get a few packers which obviously doing this in Wisconsin it's always nice to get packers to show up and attend the event,” said Seubert.
Seubert says the fundraiser on average raises more than $200,000 every year.
