MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin's unemployment rate dipped slightly in October to 7.6 percent, its lowest point so far this year.
The state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that the rate was down just one-tenth of a percentage point from the previous month. However, compared to the same month a year ago the rate was 3.2 percentage points higher.
Unemployment in the state has been declining since June. Over the last 12 months, Wisconsin has lost nearly 130,000 jobs. The national unemployment rate last month was 9.5 percent.
