Man accused of beating woman to death pleads no contest
The man accused of killing a woman by beating her with a piece of furniture pleaded no contest in court on Thursday.

The man accused of killing a woman by beating her with a piece of furniture pleaded no contest in court on Thursday.
50-year-old Jeffrey Rodrick of Augusta is charged with one count of aggravated battery. Rodrick was originally charged with felony murder, but that was changed to aggravated battery.
He's accused of beating up Kathryn Padilla who later died. Investigators say Rodrick was a member of a religious group and lived with Padilla. They say before Padilla died she told them Rodrick attacked her. His sentencing is scheduled for January.
