Unemployment in the state dropped to its lowest point so far this year but is still much higher than it was a year ago.
The State Department of Workforce Development says unemployment fell to 7.6% in October, one-tenth of a percentage point lower than in September. Compared to the same month a year ago, the rate was 3.2 percentage points higher.
Unemployment in the state has been declining since June. Over the last 12 months, Wisconsin has lost nearly 130,000 jobs.
