The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department says more deputies will be on the roads during the upcoming holiday season.
The extra enforcement will begin on Wednesday and last through New Year's Day. The sheriff's department says it'll be focusing on speeding, drunk driving, whether people are wearing seat belts and other dangerous driving behaviors.
It says its goal is to reduce traffic related injuries and deaths. It says the additional deputies will be in highly visible areas where crashes often happen.
