More than 60 wildfires broke out around the state yesterday because of the warm temperatures, low humidity and high winds.

The DNR issued its heaviest restrictions on burning in five Western Wisconsin counties, including Eau Claire.
>
A red flag warning means no burning at all.
>
The DNR says the agency doesn't recommend running chainsaws or motors or even smoking outdoors.
>
“Be extremely careful, even if you think it might be safe to burn a little bit, it only takes a second for that fire to get away and once it gets away, bad things can happen,” says Scott Humrickhouse, DNR Regional Director.

Burn bans will continue across the state until we receive enough rain and moisture to deem it safe.
