Steven Avery was freed from prison last September after serving 18 years for a rape he didn't commit.
Now he's living in an ice shanty in Two Rivers following a falling out with family members. Avery says the shanty on his sister's property is just a bit bigger than a cell.
His plight has prompted a legislator to set up a fund to help Avery. Representative Gary Bies of Sister Bay says he decided to set up the fund after speaking with Avery last week before a hearing of a legislative task force investigating how Avery was wrongly convicted.
Bies enlisted the Wisconsin Innocence Project to manage the fund. The program won Avery's freedom through DNA testing.
