Two juveniles face serious criminal charges after police say they set a camper on fire and broke into a house in Chippewa Falls Tuesday.

Chippewa Falls Police Chief Wayne Nehring says a 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy ran away from the Badgerland Group home on Monday and spent most of the night in the camper. Around noon on Tuesday, neighbors saw smoke coming from the camper and saw the two running from the scene. Police also believe the boy and girl went into the house where the camper was parked on Monday night when no one was home. Nehring says the girl was carrying a knife and took food from the home.

Eventually the Chippewa County Sheriff's department picked up the boy and girl on Highway S near Lake Wissota. Police say they face charges of arson, armed burglary, criminal damage, and theft.
