Bush Visits La Crosse

President Bush will be trying to build support in a largely Democratic area when he visits Prairie du Chien and La Crosse later this week Bush's one-day bus swing on Friday will be in the same area where Bill Clinton and Al Gore traveled in a bus caravan on the way to victory 12 years ago.

In 2000, Gore took a riverboat ride down the Mississippi River, starting at La Crosse, after the Democratic convention on his way to a narrow victory in Wisconsin.

Republicans say Bush is visiting an area where their party should do better than it has in the past. But Democrats say the area has been getting more Democratic and won't be easily swayed.
