People packed a town meeting to protest a strip club that just opened for business in the town of Thorp.

Chubby's North Gentlemen's Club is right off Highway 29 in the town of Thorp. About 85 people jammed the meeting, and plenty of them came ready to speak their minds.

"Why would someone want to buy your land? I'm not going to say, "Oh, we got a strip club next door!'" says Kris Rudnick, who's property is right next to the strip club.

Many people at the meeting said they felt deceived by the strip club owners, but comments from the former property owner where the strip club now stands drew the strongest reaction.

"They told us that is would be a sports club, a restaurant. If we had any inkling that this garbage was going on that property, they never would have purchased it. Through the power of God Almighty, that place is going down," says Franny Straskowski, to loud applause.

"The only reason why we did that is to prevent controversy before we opened the doors. That's the only reason why we did that and I apologize for people that we didn't tell them otherwise, but we knew what was going to happen. We knew they were going to fight us," says club co-owner Sonja Duarte.

Town chairman Ron Wundrow says it's now up to the residents of the town of Thorp to create an ordinance banning nude dancing. If they want to, they'll have to take it up with the town planning committee.
