A local sheriff's department will be using grant money to crack down on the use of seat belts in 2010.

A local sheriff's department will be using grant money to crack down on the use of seat belts in 2010.
Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says his department recently got a grant totaling over $16,000.
Smith says their objective is not to write more tickets but to save live and reduce injuries through voluntary compliance with Wisconsin’s mandatory safety belt law, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
An estimated 237 lives were saved by using seat belts in 2007 and 100 percent seat belt use could have saved an additional 137 lives.
