Local Channels Offered on Satellite

(Altoona) May 3, 2004 -- Starting last week, Dish Network customers who want to tune in on the local dial are getting the chance.

Dish Network is now offering select local channels to customers for an additional $4.99 per month. New subscribers will see those local channels included in many packages.

The channels in the Eau Claire-La Crosse market include WEAU, WXOW, WKBT, WLAX and PBS Channel 31. NorthStar Satellite officials in Altoona say this is the first time local channels have been available by satellite in our area.
