Ho-Chuck Nation Looking to Illinois

After its proposal for a Madison casino was turned down, the Ho-Chuck Nation is focusing on a Chicago suburb as a potential site for a new gambling hall.

The Wisconsin tribe announced the proposal Monday to build a gambling and entertainment operation in Lynwood, Illinois. The tribe has three other gambling operations in Wisconsin, at Lake Delton, Black River Falls, and Nekoosa.

The tribal President says they're looking for other business opportunities, especially since they owe Wisconsin a payment of $30 million a year under a compact signed last year.
