Community Wants Doctor Back

Dr. Peter Chambers is home from serving in Kuwait and Iraq, but he hasn't been allowed to go back to work.

Neither he nor the hospital in Neillsville will say why he's not allowed to resume his practice.

People of the community have been working to get Dr. Chambers back, one of the things they've done is formed a group and started a petition signing, which has over 300 signatures on it.

Dr. Chambers says he's flattered by the support of the community and his patients say it is his constant personal attention that sets him a part from other doctors. Dr. Chambers says he determined to stay in Neillsville and to continue practicing medicine.

It's not publicly known why this happened, and requests for comment from the Memorial Medical Center were never answered.
